Google is following in the footsteps of MSN, wow that is funny. But it’s true, MSN previously decided to let webmasters decide to remove the ODP (or DMOZ) title and descriptions from their site listings and now Google has done the same. You can add this code to your site and not have to have with your DMOZ:
For all Search engines that support the tag add:
- meta NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOODP"
For Google only use:
- meta NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOODP"
With how many people complain about the ODP titles and descriptions this should make many webmasters happy.
