Ok everyone there is a new scam that I have been made aware of and it’s a pretty good one. The scammer is sending out emails saying that they have placed your link on a site (call it site A) and that they would like a link to their other site (site B). This is a classic 3 way exchange and many webmasters think that this a way to fool the SE’s.

Anyways, the catch is that Site A already had a link to you and the owners of Site B has nothing to do with that site. They are just finding sites that have links and sending out mass e-mails to all of the link partners of Site A claiming they own both sites and acting like they have place a new link to you. Very creative IMO, but you could end up linking to 2 sites or worse if you remove the link to the first site you might end up loosing that link.

If you get any 3 way link requests make sure that you aren’t already linking to Site A.
