The Millionaire Real Estate Agent book is great. It is a must read for real estate agents no matter what level of experience they have in the business.

The “Millionaire Real Estate Agent” had the most effect on me as well and was the first book I read when starting into Real Estate. The most important point is what you said about not reinventing the wheel. Do what other successful people have done.

I use a combination of techniques to generate leads but lead generation is the “main thing” . If you don’t have leads - all your other skills are useless.

The second book I read was “Real Estate Rainmaker: Guide to Online Marketing” by Dan Gooder Richard. It got me started down the path of marketing online.

These 2 books had a profound effect on my RE career.

Ken, this is so true. Unfortunately, most agents just don’t get it. I always say that the most important job in real estate in not the Realtor, but the person generating the leads (rainmaker).

To true Ken, if agents valued leads and actively pursueing time proven strategies to generate a fresh stream of leads then lead generation companies would face some hardships. I think part of the problem is that lack of education on the agents part and they end up buying into the quick fix, which we all know there is no such thing.

Toby there is no question that most agents are looking for a quick fix. It is really sad to see them running around trying to find the next “magic pill” to fix their business.

The magic pill thing drives me crazy. I talk to agents that always think their is some “secret”. There are numerous strategies that successful agents have employed in the past. The trick is just going out and trying a few strategies and see which fits best.
