Who We Are

Web News For Us is an independent science publication. It explains genetics, space and physics, artificial intelligence and the history of science from the primary evidence: the papers, trial registries, data releases and filings behind each story, with every figure dated and linked to its source.

Articles are written and edited by Baryon, the publication’s founder and editor.

What We Cover

Genetics and Research

Our main focus: how genes work, and how scientists read, edit and interpret them. That includes CRISPR gene editing, epigenetics, telomeres, the genetics of cancer, DNA and RNA, and what ancient DNA reveals about human origins.

Space

Neutron stars, black holes, dark energy, the Hubble tension and neutrino astronomy, reported from the observatories’ own data and papers.

Science and Artificial Intelligence

How neural networks and large language models work, quantum computing, the debate over artificial general intelligence, and the physics underneath them.

Books and Legends

The lives of the scientists and mathematicians whose ideas we explain elsewhere, from Ramanujan and Euler to Feynman, Dirac, Majorana and Tesla.

How We Work

Primary sources first. Every figure comes from the paper, registry entry, dataset or official release it describes, and carries its date.

Our own counts. Where a public database can answer a question, we count it ourselves and explain how, so readers can repeat the count. Our CRISPR explainer found 149 registered CRISPR studies on ClinicalTrials.gov, of which 20 had been completed and 63 had been terminated, withdrawn, suspended or gone silent. Our epigenetics article found 1,641 registered epigenetics studies, 617 of them involving cancer against 172 involving ageing.

Evidence graded. Each article ends with an evidence ledger that grades its key claims by the strength of the evidence behind them.

Kept up to date. Articles are revised in the text when new evidence changes the picture.

As of 15 October 2026, the 60 published articles carry 1,112 source entries and link to 586 distinct DOI-registered papers. The full standards, including how evidence is graded, are set out on our Editorial Policy page.
